As Senior Financial Reporting Analyst, you’ll play a role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by managing all aspects of budget, deposit schedule, forecasting, wire transfer and payments, as well as final program reconciliation for the Life Insurance division’s meetings.

How You’ll Contribute Track costs and manage reporting functions for the Meeting & Event Marketing Department and for the Life Division Recognition Program as well as Division Meetings. Manage budgeting and reporting process for Division Sponsorships to include reports to Distribution Channels and Budget Director. Prepare budgets for meetings and conferences, report monthly on variances and trends. Reconcile costs for meetings, conferences, and sponsorships and charge back costs, as applicable. Track annual spouse/guest costs for tax reporting purposes. Prepare non-staff-related budget for department and semi-annual forecasts projecting year-end balances. Calculate monthly accruals. Keep up to date on FINRA guidelines as related to Meetings, updating procedures, as necessary, that comply w/Non-Cash Compensation Regulations. Assist in management of procedures and communication of FINRA procedures and requirements. Reconcile costs and prepare 1099 reporting for all producer incentive programs. Work with Commissions Accounting personnel to provide accurate social security/tax ID numbers and with legal to ensure proper procedures are adhered to. Administer budget, reports and activities, including database (hierarchy) management, related to the Division Service Excellence programs and 3 rd party vendor.

MS Excel, Tides, PeopleSoft ETP Workcenter, Oracle Enterprise Performance Management System (Hyperion), Pivotal CRM, Concur Solutions

Factors for Success

College degree, BA or BS in Accounting or Business Administration preferred.

5+ years progressive accounting experience or equivalent combination is required.

Familiarity of automation tools (e.g. Alteryx, Tableau, etc.)

Good knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, budgeting, account reconciliation, and costs analysis required.

Ability to interface effectively with people at different levels within the organization as well as outside customers

Ability to organize and work with multiple demands and frequent interruptions

Good writing and communication skills and significant proficiency in using Microsoft Word
